A Dog & Some Geese.... A Sherlock Tail (Tale) :)

Hello!
Sorry about the Blogging break! With having a garage sale, and prep and clean out
from + Attending a conference life's been REALLY busy! :)

One of my brothers had a Birthday recently and for his birthday activity we went to
 a park.
(The word we includes Sherlock, who you might remember:)

Now this park ALWAYS has a LOT of geese waddling around, and to Sherlock they
looked like a lot of toys to chase (Or maybe chew toys? lol)

(Above Picture)
My brother had just gotten him out of the car & he had just seen the Geese!
(Can you tell he was excited?)

This is what he saw!
(What dog wouldn't get excited about seeing that! :)

As soon as the Geese saw him they were all waddling as fast as they could toward the lake.
(For good reason!)

Sherlock kept trying to pull my brother into the lake! He WANTED these birds! :)

Can I have them? :)

He looked so sad when he couldn't! :D

When you all comment today I would love to see captions for this last picture!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

My Fun Fall Outfit 2 (Burnt Orange and Cream)

This is the outfit I wore to church yesterday!
I was looking for a outfit that looked fall-ish but was still cool and summer-y
(sorry about my strange words :)
It was supposed to be in the eighties and sunny!
(It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day by the way!)

I chose this Orange dress because it's Linen which is nice and cool!
I didn't want to wear brown or black with it (it would look to winter-y (sorry) :)
so I decided on cream!

I LOVE these shoes! I think I found them at a church garage sale for about $1.00?
They are Italian leather and SO comfortable!
They are also size 38 (if you know anything about European sizing! :) Which BTW I don't)

Don't you LOVE all of the fall leaves in our yard? !!!

By the way, the reason the bottom part of my hair is SO messy is this is about 2:30 in the afternoon and I fixed it at 8:00 in the morning + I stood outside at church for about 1/2 an hour :( Oops!

The earrings were a gift from Mom & Dad on my last Birthday! :)

And the necklace was also a gift from them (Christmas two years ago!)
P.S. This is an old picture (just about Christmas time last year)

Re-purposed Jeans Tutorial. Part 1

Hi Everyone! This is a project I did last winter (that I am FINALLY getting around to posting :P) I am one of those people that have a hard time finding pants that fit right,
Between the fact that all of the designers out there that apparently think we all have weirdly shaped bodies and the fact that I don't wear things that are shrink wrapped it can be really hard to find things! So sometimes you just have to work with what you find. Okay, so I found a pair of jeans at a (where do you think?) a Garage Sale! That looked like they would fit OK and I was needing some more  before winter, (plus they were nice dark jean and I thought I might be able to use them for something else if it didn't work)

I got them home and tried them on..........they were to short! WAY too short! Well the nice thing about these jeans were they had a big cuff on the bottom hem that I could let out, so I did, and the result was.............. they were a little bit longer but still not long enough!

Oh, one thing I didn't mention was that these jeans have no back pockets and instead have a second set of pockets on the side (which is just were I don't need them!)  and they were VERY annoying!

So I decided  to re-purpose/redo them!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I will just be showing you how I did the pockets!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first thing I did was sew up the extra pockets on the sides and take out the inside part of them (getting rid of a lot of bulk on the sides)

I also liked this because of the stitching on the sides!
After sewing up the outside I went back in and cut out the pocket
from the inside.

This is not cutting out the whole pocket
(I forgot to get pictures of that :(  Sorry)

There were little strips of dark denim inside the pockets that I saved
for another project that I will be showing you at a later time!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you all enjoyed this and will come back for Part 2!
I will show you how I fixed the cuffs to make it longer!
I hope you have a great weekend. :)

A Week In Pictures!

I'm back! We finished the garage sale on Saturday and we are so glad it's over! So here are the highlights of this last week. We got TONS of stuff out of our house!

My "little sister" turned 13 :)
These are pictures of the decorations for her birthday
(and they were purple NOT blue like it looks like in this picture!)

and we had a great Sunday full of fellowship with other believers.

This is one of my favorite sights of
summer.......clothes on the line again!
Another storm on the horizon.....
And more flower pictures! (pink! :) )

And our life is getting back to normal!
Hence this blog is getting back to normal!
