Contentment in all Things

Right now I am going through Leviticus in my Bible Reading. And as anyone who has read Leviticus knows there is not a whole lot of easy or fun reading in it (its mostly  about sacrifices and lots of the same thing over and over again. :)

So yesterday before I started I prayed that God would show me something that I could use that day.

And he showed it to me!  In Leviticus chapter 10 it talks about how Aaron came to Moses and told him that the children of Israel had done what God told them to do, and the next verse was the one that caught my eye.

And when Moses heard that, he was content.
                                                                         Leviticus 10:20

Contentment......That's something I often lack, and this week I really needed to hear that.  How often could that be said of me?
This was also encouraging to see that even in the books that are not as interesting there is always something there if you are looking for it!

  5. Leviticus? You brave woman! My husband is ploughing through it too. He has also found surprising nuggets as he's researched the deeper meanings and symbolism behind the laws.
Contentment is hard to maintain and slips from our grasp like a bucket of eels wriggling to get away. Joy can be just as challenging to keep hold of. Yet a deep-seated inner contentment can really help us to cope with all the changing circumstances threatening to tip us out of balance.
I'm glad you were next to me at #faithfilledfriday and I hope and pray contentment will make its home in you. Blessed by the visit and lovely photographs! Thank you. :) x

  7. Thank you for this reminder. I was really struggling to get through the 2nd half of Exodus and this reminded me to stop first and ask God to reveal to me something new. There is always something there for us. Thank you for joining us for Three Word Wednesday. Blessings.

  9. Your post reminded me of when Jesus said, 'Seek and you shall find.' There is so much depth in the Bible and so much to ponder and learn.

  13. Contentment.... that's a toughie. It's so neat that even the most tedious books in His Word contain such wisdom and encouragement. Thanks for caring enough to look for it.

Love that you linked this up with Recommendation Saturday! Heart Hugs, Shelly <3

  14. Isn't it wonderful when God answers us! I fear we often ask and then miss His answer - how blessed you are to have found it! Have a great weekend!

  17. Yes! I too have found gems in Leviticus and Numbers during my read-through this year. It's incredible to ask God to open our eyes and then to actually see what He reveals to us! Thank you for sharing! (Visiting from Michelle DeRusha's linkup.)
